A story about growth and the passing of time.

We started as a small family business in 2004 and have been going ever since — out of passion and a desire to create a welcoming place to rest.

At the foot of the Codru-Moma mountains, Moneasa offers a ready escape from the noise of the city for a few days.

It is quiet here. The air is clean and fresh. Often the only sounds are the cuckoo from the forest, the blackbird in the firs of the garden, and — if you are lucky — a black squirrel rummaging for last autumn's nuts.

The forest still stretches the length of the valley; the stream still trickles lazily past the house and feeds the fir trees in the garden.

Many of you know us already. We have watched many of you grow, year after year, with every summer season.

To all of you who have crossed our threshold over the years, and to those we hope will follow, thank you for your support and your visits. We look forward to seeing you again!

Moneasa — 120 years as a spa resort

Before it became what it is known as today, Moneasa was one of the most elegant spa resorts of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Its thermal springs, grand hotels, and even a narrow-gauge steam railway made it attractive to aristocrats and townspeople alike. The Topitorie district — also known as Schmelz (the Smelter) — right next to us, takes its name from the iron foundry that operated here in the early 20th century.
